Inglis Ready 2 Race

Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale is about to get underway.. I usually don’t evaluate pedigrees in ready to run sales. However, Inglis have kindly sent me their catalogue and I have picked four of the first one hundred entries which measure up well in my PRI system.

Lot 7 b c              Exceed and Excel – Allez Bien

Exceed and Excel has an exemplary stud career of 15 years; 7668 runners and 328 SW with SW/runners ratio of 3.98%. He sired some exceptional sprinter/milers, but his best horse Barney Roy won a G1 in Germany over 2415m. Lot 7 has similar inbreeding to

Northern Dancer. On the dam’s side the cross of Exceed and Excel and O’Reilly have produced two SW.

  • .Dublin Down won twice at G3 level as a 2yo, Pago Pago S and Maribyrnong Plate

Lot 7 scores 96.7 on the PRI scale. Certainly, worth a look to see how he gallops.

Lot 49 b c            Darci Brahma – Find Your Level

Darci Brahma has an impressive record as a sire with 62 SW. His SW/r is a high 6.62%. Probably would have been better if he didn’t have to cope with a band of mares awash with Danehill genes. He has sired mostly sprinter/milers. The cross Darci Brahma and O’Reilly has produced six SW:

  • Super Easy, won three G1 in Singapore over 1200,1400, and 1600m.
  • Irish Fling won the G1 NZ Telegraph Handicap 1200m
  • Hello it’s Me won a 3yo G2 over 2000m
  • Sky Darci a G3 in Hong Kong over1610m
  • The Radiant One, The Precious One, Quattro Quinto all won L races

The PRI score for lot 49 is 93.3

Lot 63 b c            Toronado – Gypsy’s Best

Toronado is still making his way up the league ladder. One thing he has shown is versatility. He has sired the winners of seven G1 races, three wins have been at 2000m or

greater and four at 1200m or less. With 37 SW and a SW/r of 4.46% he is up there with the best.  The cross Toronado to Redoute’s Choice has produced two SW.

  • Papillon Club won G3 for 3yo over 1610m
  • The Intimidator won a L race in NZ over1409m

The pedigree shows an impressive array of stallions, but we all know its not how impressive they are but how they fit together. The PRI score for Lot 63 is 94.2

Lot 80 b c            Toronado – Keltara

The comments made about Toronado apply to Lot 80.The cross Toronado to Exceed and Excel has produced one L race SW.

  • Laced Up Heels won a 3yo L race over1409m

The credentials of Exceed and Excel should not be underestimated. In the female line he has produced 124 SW with a SW/r score of 4.48%. The PRI score for Lot 80 is 97.9.
